How To Treat Thin Edges

For those of you who are struggling with thin edges there is hope! For years I have been struggling with my thin hairline and for a long time I just gave up and accepted my bald edges. I thought, because thin edges haunted so many of my family members I blamed it on genetics, so there was no way around it, right? WRONG! After doing some research I came across Hairlista.com that gave me hope, the journey had begun! Since then I have been on a mission for a thicker, fuller, hairline and while postpartum hair loss has set me back a bit I’m ready to get my edges back! Are you ready to join me…then let’s do it!!

So, let’s take a look at why so many of us maybe struggling with this major hair problem.

Thin edges can be a result of age, genetics, or underlying health conditions such as alopecia, lupus, hyperthyroidism, and/or post-partum hair loss. It can also be caused by one of two things:

  1. Scalp infection; which can be resolved by products containing anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties which help to fight off dandruff and bacteria off your scalp
  2. Excessive amount of tension/stress applied to a specific area over a long period of time as a result of wearing tight braids and pony tails.

In order for your hair to grow back, the hair follicles need to be rejuvenated to improve blood circulation thus promoting more hair growth. This can be achieved through scalp stimulation which helps to improve blood circulation throughout the scalp. Also, when you remove dandruff and/or bacteria from your scalp, hair follicles become unclogged, allowing the scalp to breathe resulting in faster hair growth.

You should first stop any practices that contribute to adding tension/stress to your edges such as wearing tight braids, tight pony tails and/or using rough hard bristle brushes on your edges. If you’ve found yourself using any of those methods to achieve your hairstyle don’t be ashamed for I too am guilty of wearing my puff kinda tight; cause it’s cute that way right? Ok, but having bald edges is not so let’s fix it, together!

Sunshyne from Hairlista.com recommends a couple of options which can be incorporated in your hair regimen: You don’t have to use all these oils but if you’re going to use Rosemary or Peppermint be sure to use a carrier oil such as Coconut or Olive Oil

  1. Rosemary Oil– Needs to be mixed with a carrier oil and is known to increase blood flow, therefore, promoting hair growth.
  2. *Peppermint Oil– Needs to be mixed with a carrier oil. It gives a cooling effect/tingle to the scalp, removes dandruff, and purifies the scalp. Known to increase blood flow, therefore, promoting hair growth.
  3. *Castor Oil– Cleanses toxins and impurities from your scalp and stimulates hair growth while moisturizing dry brittle hair. Castor oil also nourishes and thickens the hair.
  4. *Coconut Oil– Promotes hair growth by revitalizing and exfoliating dead skin tissue from the scalp. Works great to remove dandruff so that the scalp/hair follicles can breathe and the hair can grow at a faster rate.
  5. Aloe Vera Gel/Juice– Includes an enzyme that is beneficial in stimulating new hair reproduction.
  6. Vitamin E– An antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Helps to increase and improve circulation of your scalp, promoting the growth of healthy hair.
  7. Miconazole Nitrate– Found in yeast infection creams and Neosporin. Because this contains antifungal properties if applied to the scalp, it will remove dandruff and/or bacteria off the scalp thus promoting hair growth (caution: can cause headaches)
  8. Sulfur 8– Provides a tingling sensation to the scalp. Helps to remove dandruff off the scalp. It brings about hair growth, strong nails, and smooth skin.
  9. Mega-Tek– Stimulates and promotes rapid hair regrowth without the use of silicone, synthetic polymers, oils, or petroleum based products.
  10. ORS Temple Balm– The balm soothes the nerves, helping to stimulate the hair follicles to regrow hair around the hairline. This product contains a blend of horsetail, menthol, and juniper.
  11. *Wild growth Oil– This product contains a mixture of olive, coconut, and jojoba oils. It aids in the growth of hair and also acts as moisturizer for dry, brittle hair.

NOTE: These oils are only recommendations. You can mix the oils or use them alone. Choose one or two and stick to it.  Patience is KEY! If you’re going to use an essential oil like Peppermint or Rosemary use a carrier oil such as Coconut or Extra Virgin Olive Oil with it. I’ve only used my oil mixture (Castor Oil, Peppermint Oil, & Coconut Oil) every night  and sometimes every other night by gently massaging in the oil to increase blood circulation thus promoting hair growth. Oil do not have to be heated.

Click the oil you’d like to purchase, you’ll then be redirected to Vitamin Shoppe’s Website.

Products can be purchased by clicking here>>  Vitamin Shoppe.

Most important be consistent and remember hair growth does not happen overnight!

I’ve beeen struggling with my sides since I was a kid and there has only been one stylist that had actually took caution and care with my hair. Since i’ve moved from my home town and have had health issues and way too many extensions, my hair is gone on the sides again. I will be trying some of the oils I havent tried yet and share my results. They have grown some since my BC and since I wash my hair daily( I love it)! I will take a picture of the side, it’s gonna take guts to show them.

I have recently experienced thinning on my edges due to dying my hair too much, relaxing and what not. I tried many things but either felt it made it worse, I wasn’t consistant, or gave up too quickly.
Now I’m getting serious – starting yesterday I gave myself a challenge to get my edges back by March 3rd ( a month from yesterday )
Using home health castor oil, peppermint oil, and jojoba oil 2-3x/day.. I really hope I begin to see some progress.
I also have a dermatologist appt and plan on consulting with him as well and get his opinion on this… I really hope by March I will have my edges back, or even healthier than they were before.

I plan on braiding my hair by that time as well (march) so I wanna make sure my hair is healthy.

Hello!! I use my favorite oil mixture, JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil), Peppermint Oil, & Olive Oil. Results of course vary but you should notice an improvement within 3-4wks. Also I use a toothbrush to brush my edges down NEVER a hard brush. Yes I finally have my eyebrows back (PRAISE DANCE!!!) Also consistency is key!!! Let me know how it goes!

Did you combine the 3 oils into a mixture and if so how much of each did you use? Where did you purchase the oil and what brand did you purchase

Yes I combine them. I don’t measure I just pour. It doesnt matter the amount of each. I purchased them from Vitain Shoppe but you can also find them at GNC

How did you go about putting these oils in your hair? Did you mix them or put them in one by one?

        July 29, 2012 at 7:58 pm

Honestly, you can do both! I sometimes mix them when applied to freshly washed hair but it doesn’t matter. I now use a baby brush or a soft toothbrush to lay my edges down.

So what do you mix the products in? Can i just use castor or olive oil? or will i get a better result mixing the products? Please help

        November 9, 2013 at 12:17 am

Both since one’s a carrier oil and the other is an essential oil. For some the castor oil is too potent to use alone so mixing with EVOO reduces itching. I use the jbco alone and with a carrier it all depends on how sensitive your scalp may be.

I have been getting scalp injections for the past 1.5 yrs and have seen great results on the left side of my temples; however, the right side is taking much longer. I’ve also been using diprolene ointment. Within the past month or so, added JBCO to my edges. Patience is the key and stay positive.

I started treating my bald/thin edges on February 22, 2013, and I can see some results. I mixed together (home remedy) Black Jamaican Castor Oil, peppermint, lavender, orange oils…and sometimes I would occasionally (not a whole lot) put Emu Oil on my edges. I promise I can see a Noticeable difference! It’s enough excitement for me to stay motivated and keep at it. Do you have any suggestions what I could add to my home remedy or keep using what I am doing? I can’t wait until August 22, 2013, because I will see my 6-months results!!!!:) I plan to post pictures, once I figure out how.

That’s awesome! I wouldn’t suggest adding anything or changing your regimen, consistency is key. Orange oil? Tell me more! I’m so excited for you, lol. My eyebrows are super duper thin I actually draw them on everyday. I began using the JBCO on my eyebrows and viola! They are like growing out of control. Although I have to get them done more often I don’t have to worry abt my makeup coming off and having no brows, lol

It compliments the other oils and is good for poor circulation where there is baldness; basically it adds as an essential nutrient such as water for the body, which we need plenty of everyday.

Thank you all for this information. I have been on my natural hair journey for about 7 months now. I wear extensions , but my edges are so thin because I wore braids at one point and when I had them taken out , it was pulled out really hard . I am hoping that the pulling of it didn’t destroy its chances of re-growing my edges, but by reading your information , now I have hope . I will get those 3 oils and try it. So just so I am clear, all I have to do is mix all 3 and massage on the edges or thinning areas at least 2-3 times a day and watch the results??

Heyyy, my edges are thinning because of braids but I don’t want to stop getting them because it retains my length and it also give me a break of doing my hair myself. So any advice or help. P.S. my edges don’t thin every time its just when I get them too long.

Yeah girl keep those braids in just make sure your stylist is aware that your baby hair, your edges are not to be touch!! You’ll have the Janet Jackson baby hair look but hey at least you’ll have your edges right? I use my favorite oil mixture, JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil), Peppermint Oil, & Olive Oil. Results of course vary but you should notice an improvement within 3-4wks. Hope this helps!! Also I use a toothbrush to brush my edges down NEVER a hard brush.

What is JBCO u said ever since you used it your eyebrows are growing like crazy! Lol I want to try it. My brows are thin as well. Also I will by some castor oil and massage my scalp with it as needed. Question: I already use olive oil but your article said to use 3 different oils I think. So should I use castor, olive oil and tea tree or coconut oil also?? If so man my head is going to be greasy!
Does your hair get extremely greasy after adding all those oils? If so what do you do so your. Not dripping in this summer heat? Im assuming when using those different oils I need to use them in moderation.

Thanks and sorry for the book 🙂

Hi there!! How are you?? Ok When deep conditioning my hair I use olive oil along with my DC. For oiling my scalp I use my oil mixture. I only apply oil to my scalp on wash days and maybe twice a wk. When moisturizing and sealing my ends I use a water-based moisturizer first then coat it LIGHTLY with JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) to trap the moisture in. Listen to your hair; you’ll begin to figure out how much is too much you know. I use the JBCO for my edges and my eye brows. Now what I hate abt the JBCO is that if it gets on your pillow it leaves a black greasy stain which is NOT CUTE, lol. Also if you’re trying to be smelling good for your significant other before bed DO NOT use the JBCO it does not smell good, lol. hahahaha. It comes in a Lavender Scent but for me it’s still a bit strong. I’ve noticed that a few drips of peppermint oil helps to make the JBCO less smelly (<<is that a word, smelly?? hahaha)

      Hope this helps!

    Hey
It’s my senior year of high school and my edges got damaged. I got my hair braided to the scalp too tight a few months ago and my edges have suffered. I really would like to grow them back obviously. I was wondering if I could get Senegalese twist or individual braids.

      August 20, 2013 at 8:58 pm

Definitely, but you have to make sure to let whoever’s styling your hair, not to braid too close to your edges. It’s always important to communicate your concerns with your stylist so that he/she can not only provide you with a cute style but healthy hair as well. I usually gel my edges down. Hope this helps!

I have naturally thinner hair so ive lwarned too be careful, but i accidentally pulled a braid out too fast that is leaving the right side of my edges slightly pushed back. is it possible to continue to use weave AND see improvement with the great suggestions youve given? or do i have to quit my self expressions that ive grown accustom to with my weave.

Hi, this is so helpful but I wanted to know where would I buy the JBCO? My eyebrows and edges are really thin and I want to get them growing back properly ASAP. Also, what shampoo and conditioner would you recommend I use on my hair? My hair is really thick and I do use Sulfur 8 to oil my hair but I have a hard time finding a good shampoo and conditioner for my hair. I am currently using the Beautiful Textures shampoo, conditioner and occasionally the deep conditioner as well. I just want to get my hair back to normal because my health affected my hair greatly and it is just now growing right somewhat. So do you have any tips to help my hair grow faster, that will also make it softer and healthier?

It can be purchased at whole food stores and beauty supply stores. The cold pressed can be purchased at Vitamin Shoppe and GNC. I recommend using Shea Moisture shampoo line. They are all sulfate free but dont dry your hair out. I use beautiful textures moisturizing deep conditioner I LOVE it!!!! Make sure you’re taking your vitamins, drinking lots of water, and eating healthy!

Hello!!! I have recently chopped off most of my hair in hopes to go fully natural. I was only relaxing my hair once every 4 to 6 months so I thought why not, so I did the big chop/sort of. I was diagnosed with alopecia several years ago but successful grew back several large patches of hair back! But my side temple is still a struggle! I left some of my process on because of embarrassment. I want to do the full big chop! But im so nervous to show the little hair I do have on the side…Your tips are truly helpful, I didn’t know some of the oil I was using was helping! I also didn’t know using my hard brush was hindering any progress that I have had thus far! Thanks for the tips! Im truly inspired to go all the way! Im trying to embrace me all the way so with one thin side and all im going to do the rest of my big chop and use the regime you suggested! My appointment is Thursday! But now im even more excited!
    Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi! Those oils really did grow your edges back. Maybe you can help me with my problem. I am male, I started growing my hair out my sophmore year in high school. I am a senior now my hair as I know of is very healthy but for some reason I am seeing a little fading of my edges. I don’t no if it is because of genetics but I know my father has a bald spot and many of his people have bald spot as well. Personally I think it’s because my mom pulls on my hair whenever I get my braids out with a blow dryer and comb and my hair tangles a lot and I think it’s to much tension on my edges. But my mom says my hair is fine and she’s in denial. What oils can I use to put on my edges this is really hurting my self esteem and effecting my personality. Please Help Me.

I’d suggest using the JCBO and Olive Oil. Also you can try massaging your scalp to promote blood circulation this help with stimulating hair growth. Make sure your moms is gentle with those edges and congratulations on your senior year. You probably have an awesome personality and others probably don’t notice your thinning hair line. Luckily your young so bald spots shouldn’t be an issue right now. Enjoy life, enjoy your youth, and keep applying those oils! lol

Those two (JBCO & Wild Growth) work great together. Try those for at least a few months first before you try other oils. I apologize it took a while to reply back I have been super busy.

Ohh most definitely you don’t want to neglect your hair while in braids. Don’t overdue it but at least twice a wk. You can use Seabreeze to cleanse your scalp.

I love this site and more importantly, I love that you respond to each and every question or comment! Ok, I have a 6 year old and I noticed her edges are starting to thin. I usually keep her hair in cornrows most of the time. I try not to braid it tight but am still noticing some thining. What mixture do you think will be best on a child’s hair?

That’s normal… it’s an antifungal. I suggest mixing it with EVOO or coconut oil so it won’t be as potent.

Thank you so much for this post! I just started using the JBCO mixture as my girlfriend told me about it and I am noticing changes. I lost my edges through thyroid disease and using relaxers to hide the baldness. I want to go natural and do the BC but am afraid with my edges so I think I am going to wait for them to (hopefully) grow in and then chop. Have you ever used Cinnamon extract on your edges? I heard it works very well too. I’m not trying to try everything but use staples in my hair regimen. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there. I’m a south african gay male of mixed race. I have thinning hair and have started using peppermint , lavender and rosemary oil ? Please advise how many times a week i should use it ? Also, is that a good combination ? What other oil can I use ? Help! pretty please 🙂

    • naturalhairfanatic

      November 8, 2013 at 11:46 pm

I’d use it at least twice a week. To much can clog your pores. That’s a great combination but I’d add a carrier oil like EVOO or Cococnut Nut Oil and take away the lavender.

I would like to use these products but have two questions on what to do.
    1. Where do I but these products? As I was told organic is better; yes/no/doesn’t matter?

    2. On the post it says needs to be mixed with carrier oil; define that? Carrier oil as in what? That will help me better use these products and get the best results.

    Thank you

      November 8, 2013 at 11:45 pm

They can be purchased at Vitamin Shoppe or GNC. For my hair I use organic but I’ve used others and I did not notice a difference. If you can afford it I’d go with the organic. Carrier Oil is olive oil or coconut oil. It’s not as potent as an essential oil. For example if using peppermint oil mix it with a coconut oil. I use the peppermint oil sometimes by itself on my edges

Hi! Thanks for checking out my site. You’ll first have to begin with a good, consistent hair regimen. Consistency is key. You’ll want to exfoliate your scalp by using a clarifying Shampoo. I use Shea Moisture Black Soap at least once a month. Trim your ends if needed and try to wear more protective styles. Also you have to pay attention to what goes in your body. Drink more water and take a multivitamin. Make sure you look through my site to gain more information on keeping your hair moisturized

    Hi,

I went natural about 2 years ago and I still have a few straight pieces, but I have noticed that my temple areas are not as long and filled in as they used to be. I have been using JBCO, Aveda invati™ scalp revitalizer. But, I am not sure its working, (I also condition my scalp with coconut oil once a week). Any thoughts? Should I not be using edge control, (I use the design essentails version). Help.

As a child, I have had thin hair at my temples. Now, in my adulthood life my hair was shoulder length. I gradually began to cut my hair to go natural . I am as fabulous as ever, and I have noticed that my hair has also began to grow at my temples too. I can’t wait to use these producys to aid in my temple hair growth. I can’t wait to give an update of my progress.

OK so, I just had a baby 4 months ago and while my edges were already very thin before I had the baby, they grew in while I was pregnant but now I’m experience postpartum hair loss and it’s pretty bad. So bad it kind of fell into a depression over it. I can’t even wear my hair back into a ponytail because I look like I have two big cowlicks on each side. I’ve been putting Castor oil on my edges and was looking to start some kind of regimen. I’m going to definitely buy every single oil you listed and try them out every single day. I really hope it works because this is really hard to handle. I have a head full of hair that goes almost to the middle of my back when pressed and to have fabulous hair in the back, bald edges in the front is NOT cute. Thank you for starting this blog because you really give us hope.

Hi, I’m already seeing hair growing after four weeks but my lack of patience is my biggest problem right now! My hair has been natural for years but in the last year with health issues and stress it has taken its toll on my hair. I’ve lost a lot of hair from the front and sides but where the hair is thin (like baby hair) I’m not seeing any growth. Would applying the oils and massaging the problem areas in the morning and at night every day speed up hair growth or will it just clog the pores and stop growth? How much growth can I expect to see in 3 months? I’m also taking multi vitamins for hair, biotin and drinking lots of water. Thank you so much for writing your blog and sharing your story.

Sorry for the confusion. You can mix any of the oils mentioned together. I use Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, and Peppermint oil. I use these oils because of their antifungal properties and they promote hair growth. I use them every other night. I use only Castor Oil on my eyebrows

And ever since I had promise myself not to get a relaxer ever again . I did a big chop on December 28 , the same day I did my yarn twist. I have been trying to grow back my edges but to no avail. I bought black Jamaican castor oil and have been using it but I haven’t seen a difference . I don’t know if I am using wrong . I even did the scalp message. Can help me please

Yes I used Castor Oil when I was relaxed and it worked wonders. Focus more on the ends of your hair. The oil is quite heavy.

I have a 3 yr old daughter that has natural hair, but recently her hair has begin to thin around the edges. I want to know can I use caster oil, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil on her? What do u recommend?

I’ve only recently (about 3 weeks) become aware and addicted to the Black Hair Care Videos on the net, and I have to confess that I am so disappointed to have found them at this stage of my attempt to go without the chems. I had my hair cut off in February 2011 as my hair was breaking off between my relaxer. I wanted to try a short hair cut, and I loved how one of my hairdressers was rocking her hair, so we talked, I finally made the decision…cut it off! Unfortunately I went to a texturizer which was cute, but it was too drying for my hair and once again assumed some breakage. Again, I cut my hair this time idown to about 2 inches (1 inch longer than the 1st cut) in late 2012 or early 2013 and wore extensions. I have fine, probably 4c hair, and have always had trouble with sparse hair growth mid nape. I found that Emu oil and Nzuri liquid hair vitamins worked for me. I used two bottles of the vitamins fairly consistently, and the emu oil on and off. I dont contribute my hair growth to the vitamins and oil soley; I also incorporated more fresh vegetables and fruits into my diet (smoothies). My skin looked great, I could go outside with no makeup, thats something I would never do! My hair…I have some length now, my hair extends past my neck about 2 inches. I have somewhat of a pony tail in the back. 😀
I am now using the castor oil, peppermint, mosturizing with water almost daily. Some of the other products I had been using all along but not so much as a ritual or faithfully, so I’ve been on the right path only not really knowing abouth the secrets of moisturizing with water. I love that you all are on the net, just wish I could have saved myself some frustration, money, time, and effort.
Obviously I need to get on the net and look for more sites that address our needs.
I love you all! Thank you for the suggestions! I look forward to better growth with my natural. hair.
If your not asleep yet, I am considering henna to color or highlight my gray. What is your take on fine, soft 4c hair? Too heavy, safe, not safe? My ends do need a little trim, im not ready to go there yet though, im too excited about my little length.

Henna is great for strengthing your hair. Make sure to trim those ends when needed…trust me!

My 8yr old daughter suffered from a fungus on her scalp about two years ago that caused her hair to fall out. Her hair grew back a bit but for some reason the right side of her hair, the back and her edges just won’t grow. The middle, the top and the left side seem to be fine. Her edges and the back of her neck seem to have this “peasy” look to it so no matter how good her hair loks, the damaged areas take away from it. Can I use the oils you mentioned in her hair? It was relaxed last year for the first time but never again. Please help. Thanks so much!

Yes definitely. The same thing happen to me at the crown of my head when I was around 8yr old. Even today that spot is a lot thicker, coarse, and my scalp itch all the time. Castor Oil helps as well as daily massages to the scalp.

Okay so I stumbled across your site. I did a big chop in 2009 to regrow my hair but added chemicals again in 2011.. now I have a long hair but no edges. I’ll be going to the store tomorrow to try some of these oils. Do hair pills/vitamins work? I wanted to know if they could help hair thickness? do you have any suggestions?

Biotin speeds up your hair growth and castor oil can be used to achieve thickness

I’ve been using coconut oil and biotin to help grow my edges out. In two months I have noticed a thickness in my edges and the biotin has helped with my nails (growing long and strong) my hair (longer and tougher) skin! (well after a few little breakouts, its smooth and bright).thank you for making this post, this is my second time here and I had to leave a comment:)😊

I do apologize for such a very very late response. I prefer the Jamaican Black Castor oil and any unrefined coconut oil either from Aldi or Vitamin Shoppe. The olive oil you can buy the great value Walmart brand.

I have traction alopecia and I don’t think my edges will ever grow bk unless I have a hair transplant which is around $4,000-$5,000. It’s very frustrating to not have edges like I use to. I have a couple of strands of hair around my edges that’s it but I have a full head of hair. I tried slicking my sides down with olive oil edge control, but that helped a little. I’m also natural… Instead of the big chop I shaved my head bald to see if that would help edges come in and it did a little. They are still very, very thin.

Now that the more thicker eyebrows are in, it won’t grow back. I’m going to try the castor oil and coconut oil on them. I will post before and after pictures. I’m very grateful for the info.

Hi! I am from Philippines and I suffer for thinning edges too. I can’t tie up my hair like I usually do because I am conscious of my forehead. I badly want to tie it up again because I am in a tropical country and it’s really hot and I feel irritated with my hair just lying down. Btw, I just want to ask if these oils can be shipped? Your hair looks great!

I’m experiencing thinning edges from stress and diet and I’ve tried Jamaican black castor oil, wild growth oil, tea tree oil, Dr miracles temple balm and a few other. I don’t think my hair likes heavy oils …. My hair type is 2c 3a…. I don’t know what to do anymore I feel like nothing is working to grow back my edges.

I think the castor oil would definitely be too thick for your hair. Maybe you should just try coconut oil and peppermint oil 3 times a week not everyday. And you’re right. It starts from within so make sure you’re eating the right foods.

Oh my! I am having the same difficulty, with my edges. I just pray I have not scratched away any hope for regrowth. I purchased all the oils but I believe I mixed them incorrectly because I experienced a “bad itchy” reaction. I have mixed the “oils” again with coconut oil….this time!
It is hard, for me to hold any type of color, because my edges are so sensitive…..for now I need to get my edges right….once this irritation stops…..hopefully it was just my not having a “carrier oil”
I also purchased Indian Hemp & Tamanu, for my edges……….initially I thought that “sparked” my bad reaction…..but I will test my new oil mixture and see…..I just want relief and see some edge growth……..

I have struggled with my thin edges for ever because my Mother used to make my ponytails so tight that my neck would roll up. Then as I got older I started getting tight braids and relaxers which was horrible. I then started the quick weave faze as an adult and the glue would rip my edges out even more . I stopped getting relaxers and began using casterol oil, pure coconut oil, Shea butter and vitamin E and I do see a difference . I get my hair pressed only once or twice a year.

Hi, first and foremost, Thank you for sharing all your tips, not everyone is willing to share what they learned. I have hair that is a little past my shoulders, however I have lost my edges. I wore a lot of braids, updos and just recently weave. I wore wigs for about a year and although my hair is groing in length, my edges have issues. I brought shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil grow and restore edge treatment. I also have regular black castor oil ( The one that smells) and olive oil and coconut oil. Which would you suggest I use and also, which is better for my eye brows.
